Happy Anniversay Hotstuff!

So . . . (Long pause) . . . 16 years ago Jeff and I finally got married. I say "finally" because as most of you know it took him three years before he asked me to marry him. (Or as he so romantically said "pick a date".) Do I still love him? YOU BET! (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean.) Does he still love me? He better!

Viva la Coldplay

Jeff and I finally got to see Coldplay last night. It was awesome!! The crowd was very eclectic and provided almost as much entertainment as Coldplay. There were two opening groups, the first was The Sleeper Cars (out of Texas). They were a good concert band and did a great job opening the show. The second guy mixed funky techno music and had a video that went with it. The first 10 minutes was pretty good, but we were glad when he finished. Coldplay really put on a great show. Chris Martin never stopped moving. I have no idea how he can have that much energy that late at night.

GOAL!

I made a goal, I made a goal! I just thought I needed to let everyone know that I made a goal in tonight's game. Yes, we still lost, but as first timers we are doing pretty good.

Tagged!

Taggin' It Up Rules

1: Each player starts with 8 random habits/facts about themselves.
2: People who are tagged need to write a post on their blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3: At the end of the post you need to choose 8 people to get tagged and list their names.

Here goes:

1- I have to park in the same parking space at every store I go to! (This causes a little martial strife when Jeff forgets this quirk.)

2- I talk to myself! (Especially when trying to solve the problems of the world.)

3- I am the queen of receipts! (I am sure I have gotten rid of clothing or shoes, but the receipt is still in my possession.)

4- I do not like my food to touch on a plate . . . then when eating my food I will eat all of one thing before moving on to another. (Is there any other way to eat?)

5- I have smelling issues! (When Jeff sneezes I can smell his insides. I also find myself holding my breath when walking past people so that I won't smell them. On the bright side, I love certain smells also. Such as Gma & Gpa Sparrow's house, Libby and Pete's house and my pillow. Yes, I can tell the difference between Jeff's pillow and mine. No, Jeff doesn't stink, my pillow just smells better.)

6- I have very real dreams! (I often wake Jeff up to kill evil spiders or to help me find something I am sure is lost.)

7- I absolutely hate dentists! (I could give birth 20 times, but please don't make me go to the dentist.)

8- I like cleaning bathrooms and I clean them in a particular order! (I figure if my butt has to sit on it then it's got to be clean.)

I didn't know I had this many quirks until Jeff started pointing all of them out. (Thanks Honey!) It's a good thing I get to stop at 8.

So . . . Edee, Libby, and anyone else who might stoop to reading my lame blog, this tag is for you!

Sunday vs. Snow

Snow in October! Who would have guessed that we'd get this much of the white stuff in October? Jeff had to go out and play in the snow . . . thus, the kids did too. Lia loved her first taste of snow and was excited, but a bit perplexed by the whole thing.

The "Future" is Lookin' Up

It is final! Jeff sold our company Elemental Business and now works for FutureNow. We are so excited about this change. Jeff and his business partners, Ryan and Jared, worked so hard to make this deal go through. FutureNow's offices are located in Brooklyn, New York. In June we visited the office and took the above picture just outside the front door. Jeff and the guys will have to go to New York for meetings from time to time, but they will stay right here in Utah and run the WC (West Coast) office. I am so proud of Jeff. It has been a long (did I say long, I meant 5 years long) road, but he really made it happen.

Bangs, Bangs, Bangs

If you haven't yet heard the news. . . Ryann has bangs. Ryann begged Joni to cut her bangs. She then immediately went home to call her best friend Camryn to tell her the news.

Back-to-School

Holden with his teacher Mrs. Lynch.

Ryann in Mrs. Jones classroom.

Abbie on her way out the door for 7th grade.

Wow! It is that crazy time of year for the Pollock family. We finally get back our routine as we go back to school. This year marks my 15th year of Kindergarten, that means I have taught approximately 750 children. It seems to have gone so fast. Maybe one of these years I will advance enough to move to another grade.

On the other hand, Abbie started a new adventure . . . Junior High! This means waking up at 6:15 so that she can make it to the bus by 7:10. So far, so good! She is having a blast and is already making tons of friends.

Ryann moved to the "old" side of the school. She is in 4th grade and loving the new responsibility that comes with it.

Holden is in 2nd grade and is certainly glad to be back to school. Perhaps more for the social aspect than academic.

Sun Valley Sumo Smackdown

Abbie and I went at it "Sumo" style in Sun Valley. We spent a fun weekend with Gma Nana and Gpa Ed in Sun Valley for the Bankers Convention. It was the 100 year anniversary of the Bankers Association so they celebrated with a huge carnival. Ryann and Abbie were going to wrestle, however Ryann didn't meet the height requirement, so . . . I had to take her place. Let's just say, "You don't mess with momma!" (The video is a bit long, but oh so funny.)

Finished at "Breaking Dawn"

Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, Book 4)

I finished book 4 "Breaking Dawn" yesterday! WOW! I love a book that keeps me guessing and doesn't give it all away in the first chapter. Since I don't want to spoil anything I won't keep going on. But . . . I will say that Stephenie Meyer did not let me down and I can't wait until Dec. 12th to see the movie!

Super Wedgie!

So, I started bloggin after Abbie's birthday had already past, but I thought I would share a pic of the big event. For her birthday, we took Abbie and 5 friends to the iRock climbing wall. It was a lot of fun, but it sure makes me glad that I skipped the whole "thong" craze. The wedgies from the harness were bad enough.

Happy, Sad, Happy . . .

Happy: Lia had her 12 month Dr. visit today. She is a huge (ha-ha) 18 lbs. and 27 inches long. The visit started out great and she did an awesome job showing off all of her skills (tricks) for the doctor.

Sad: However, Lia ended the appointment as a pin cushion. She had to have six shots. OUCH! It was so sad that mom gave in . . .

Happy: and let her have a dum-dum sucker on the way out. It was grape!

Look Who's 1

Yeah for Lia, she turned 1 on August 1st! Lia had a fun party with the grandparents and cousins and really soaked in all of the attention from everyone. While the rest of us dipped lots of yummy things into chocolate, she demolished and put away two cupcakes in less than a minute ... (Pretty good for a gal who only weighs 18 lbs.)

The Real Deal

The kids were so excited to see that I was actually going to put our blog online. They absolutely love visiting their cousins blogs. However, Ryann told me that I had better put up a "real" picture of her. I guess the stick figures from the previous post weren't good enough for her. This photo was taken at the cabin in June .
